Access through DANDI version 0.220904.1554. Each session has an NWB file and may link to external raw video files; the adapter reads the NWB trials table directly or a CSV/TSV export of the same fields, and treats video-derived whisker contacts as optional rich task variables rather than required core trial columns.
Dataset
Rodgers whisker object-recognition DANDI dataset
DANDI NWB release containing behavioral events, high-speed whisker video links, pose/contact annotations, and neural recordings from head-fixed mice performing tactile shape discrimination or shape detection tasks.

Expected trial-table mapping
Canonical fields the harmonizer expects this dataset to populate.
| Canonical field | Source mapping |
|---|---|
| choice | Left or right lick response. |
| correct | Source outcome mapped to boolean correctness. |
| evidence_strength | Object position or contact-feature summary, if treated as strength. |
| feedback | Water reward for correct choices. |
| response_time | Lick response latency relative to response-window opening. |
| session_id | Session name from NWB filename. |
| stimulus_side | none; object is sampled with one whisker field and choice is reported by lick side. |
| stimulus_value | Shape class or object-present condition. |
| subject_id | Mouse identifier from DANDI subject folder. |
| task_variables | task rule, concave/convex/catch condition, object position, object approach time, whisker identity, touch times, video frame alignment, neural recording availability, and contact annotations. |
| trial_index | Trial index from behavioral event table. |
Caveats
- The dataset mixes detection and discrimination task rules that may need separate slice records.
- Video files are linked externally from NWB sessions, so local tests avoid requiring full video download.
- The DANDI record reports CC0-1.0 for the dataset release; the associated paper is separately CC-BY-4.0.
