Protocol

Human auditory clicks button task

Human participants listen to left and right click trains and report which side generated more evidence using keyboard or button responses. Click timing and count difference control the sensory evidence.

Task structure

Stimulus, choice, feedback, and training as declared in the protocol record.

Stimulus

evidence_schedule
Left and right auditory clicks are generated over time; difficulty is controlled by the difference in click counts or rates.

units
clicks, clicks per second
variables
left click count, right click count, click count difference, click timing, stimulus duration

Choice

action_mapping

Trial timing

  1. fixation_or_ready
    protocol-specific

Participant begins or readies the trial.

  2. click_train
    protocol-specific

    Auditory evidence unfolds over time.

  3. response
    response-limited

Participant reports which side had more clicks.

Vertical slices

Expected analyses

  • psychometric curve by click count difference
  • chronometric curve by evidence strength
  • temporal weighting or evidence-kernel analysis
  • drift-diffusion or accumulation model fit

Interpretive claims

  • evidence accumulation
    Confidence: high · ref.brunton-2013-clicks

Open questions

  • Separate auditory side, interval, and response-device variants when source records require it.
  • Clarify how the source alpha, beta, and gamma parameters map onto the click-generation equations.
  • Add a non-DBS healthy-human source when a public trial table is identified.
