Walsh prior-cue human contrast discrimination OSF dataset

Public OSF dataset for a human contrast-discrimination EEG/SSVEP task in which valid, invalid, and neutral probabilistic cues bias decisions about the relative contrast of two overlaid flickering gratings. The MVP uses the processed behavioural stats matrix plus the original analysis and task scripts to create canonical trial rows.

Access notes

Download `1. Behavioural Analysis.mat` from the OSF Stats Datasets component and the `Behavioural_Analysis.m` and `Experiment_Task.m` scripts from the OSF Analysis Scripts and Task Script components. The processed MAT file is small and contains the behavioural trial matrix used for mixed-effects analyses.

task_variables Cue code, pulse code, exposure bin, deltaC, target/distractor contrasts, lower-frequency response, reconstructed target frequency, and the canonical low/high-frequency convention.
training_stage Source task-exposure bin 1-5.
trial_index Row index within OSF `1. Behavioural Analysis.mat` variable `dataset`.

Caveats

  • The OSF record did not expose an explicit data license in its API metadata.
  • The processed stats matrix preserves lower-frequency versus higher-frequency responses, not the original left/right tilt response.
  • Raw EEG/behaviour archives are larger and are not required for this MVP behavioural slice.
